Recurrent taphylococcu aureu chalazia in hyperimmunoglobulinemia E (Job’) yndrome

Purpoe To report a cae of recurrent taphylococcu aureu chalazia in a patient with hyperimmunoglobulinemia E yndrome (Job’ yndrome). Deign Cae report. Method Three eparate urgical inciion and curettage of multiple, recurrent chalazia of the right upper eyelid were performed over a coure of 3 month. Culture and pathologic pecimen were obtained. Potoperative treatment conited of oral erythromycin and amoxicillin/clavulonate, topical tobramycin/dexamethaone ointment, and warm compree. Reult Pathology of the taru confirmed the diagnoi of multiple chalazia. Culture of the chalazia content were poitive for taphylococcu aureu. No further recurrence wa oberved following the third urgical procedure over a 3-month follow-up period. Concluion Characteritic taphylococcu aureu kin infection in immunodeficient patient with hyperimmunoglobulinemia E yndrome can involve the eyelid and may be recurrent depite appropriate medical and urgical therapy.
