Abstract :
Purpoe
To report two cae of a peritent outer retinal defect evident by optical coherence tomography (OCT) after clinically ucceful macular hole urgery.
Deign
Retropective cae erie.
Method
A retropective cae erie of two patient who had a peritent outer retinal defect by OCT and excellent viual acuity after clinically ucceful macular hole urgery.
Reult
Two patient with tage 2 macular hole and preoperative viual acuity of 20/70 and 20/60, repectively, underwent macular hole urgery. Although the macular hole were cloed on clinical evaluation, a peritent outer retinal defect wa identified by OCT in both patient. At 5 to 6 month potoperatively, the outer retinal defect became le prominent and the viual acuity remained at 20/20 in both patient.
Concluion
An outer retinal defect by OCT may occur in the early potoperative period after macular hole urgery. Depite thi defect, good viual acuity i poible.
