  • Abstract
Purpoe To report a cae of adenoma of the nonpigmented ciliary epithelium concomitant with marked neovacularization of the optic dik and cytoid macular edema (CME). Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 34-year-old woman preented with a nonpigmented, vacularized tumor behind the iri and neovacularization of the optic dik (NVD). Viual acuity decreaed gradually a a reult of the development of CME. Reult Iridocyclectomy to excie the tumor wa performed 8 month after initial examination. Hitopathologic tudy revealed an adenoma ariing from the NPCE. The level of vacular endothelial growth factor were ignificantly elevated in both aqueou and vitreou humor obtained at urgery. The NVD and CME regreed after urgery, and the potoperative viual acuity improved to 20/40. Concluion NVD and CME may develop econdary to adenoma of the nonpigmented ciliary epithelium. Increaed level of vacular endothelial growth factor in intraocular fluid may play a role in NVD and CME development.
