Purpoe To develop a device that facilitate the procurement of corneal limbal tem cell graft for keratolimbal allograft procedure ued in the treatment of ocular urface dieae aociated with tem cell deficiency. Deign Decription of device deign and technique for ue. Method The device i compoed of a pedetal with a convex urface mounted to a flat platform. A corneocleral button placed endothelial ide down and centrally upon the convexity i ecured by uction conveyed through a hollowed core in the pedetal that connect to fenetrated opening on the convex urface. A donut-haped tainle teel ring placed on tenion by pring brace the peripheral tiue. A circular corneal inciion i created of a deired thickne by a uction trephine, and a crecent blade i utilized to peripherally diect a donut-haped keratolimbal allograft. Reult Thi device facilitated the harveting of the keratolimbal allograft tiue from four eye bank donor practice corneocleral button and wa then ued to uccefully procure graft from ix corneocleral button ued in three keratolimbal allograft procedure in three patient, one each with aniridia, alkali burn, and drug-induced limbal tem cell deficiency. Concluion The decribed device effectively facilitate procurement of corneocleral button for keratolimbal allograft procedure. It appear to offer advantage over freehanded technique and previouly decribed device ued for the ame purpoe.
