Abstract :
Purpoe
To decribe the ophthalmocopic and radiologic finding of a patient who utained blunt orbital trauma. A piece of bone from the fractured orbital wall caued an intraocular foreign body.
Deign
Cae report.
Method
An 18-year-old man underwent full ophthalmocopic examination 1 week after utaining blunt ocular trauma to the right eye while playing baketball. B-can ultraonography and computed tomography of the orbit were alo performed.
Reult
Viual acuity, intraocular preure, and anterior egment examination were normal. Funducopic examination revealed a fragment of bone that had penetrated the clera, choroid, and retina. A hole in the clera wa viible. No treatment wa performed. Three month later, the patient had no ocular complaint or complication a a reult of thi injury.
Concluion
Bone from a patient’ orbit may caue an intraocular foreign body that may be followed conervatively in certain circumtance
