Abstract :
Purpoe
A thin central cornea ha been reported to be a rik factor for developing primary open-angle glaucoma among ocular hypertenive eye. A thin cleral bed of lamina cribroa een in deeply excavated optic nerve in glaucomatou eye i a quinteential finding in advanced glaucomatou eye. Aociation between thin cornea and weak clera contributing to vulnerability of lamina cribroa ha been potulated. The purpoe of thi tudy i to determine whether there i an aociation between corneal thickne and axial length of human eye in a clinical etting.
Deign
Thi i an obervational, retropective cro-ectional tudy.
Method
The ocular parameter of 1,084 conecutive eye with both corneal thickne and axial length meaurement were analyzed and compared by age, gender, and race.
Reult
In the total patient tudy group, there wa no tatitically ignificant aociation between central corneal thickne and axial length. ubgroup analyi by age, gender, and race alo failed to how an aociation.
Concluion
Central corneal thickne and axial length are independent occurrence. Thin cornea are not aociated with longer eye.
