Clinical evaluation of the accuracy of intraocular preure meaurement by Tono-Pen XL in eye with amniotic membrane patching

Purpoe To evaluate the influence of amniotic membrane on intraocular preure (IOP) meaurement with the Tono-Pen. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Eight patient with partial limbal dyfunction who underwent penetrating keratoplaty were recruited. Amniotic membrane were patched jut after keratoplaty. One week potoperatively, amniotic membrane were removed, and accuracy of IOP meaurement with the Tono-Pen wa evaluated with comparion before and after the removal. Reult No epithelial defect were detected after the removal of amniotic membrane. Mean IOP with and without amniotic membrane were 16.6 ± 3.0 mm Hg (mean ± D) and 16.0 ± 3.7 mm Hg, repectively. The difference wa not tatitically ignificant. Concluion Aement of IOP with the Tono-Pen wa oberved to be accurate even when ued over an amniotic membrane patch in cae who underwent penetrating keratoplaty.
