Ocular injury in children from exploding microwaved egg

Purpoe To report an ocular injury caued by exploding microwave-cooked egg. Deign Cae report. Method Two children expoed to exploding microwaved egg were examined for facial burn and ocular trauma. Reult One patient utained mild corneal epithelial damage in both eye and eyelid burn, which were treated conervatively. The other, injured in the ame event, had ymblepharon and moderate keratopathy requiring intenive lyi. Concluion Phyician hould be alerted to the potential rik of viion-threatening ocular injury from exploding microwaved food, and the public hould be educated not to cook egg in microwave oven.
