Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of extenive cephalic and bailic venou thromboi after fluorecein angiography.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A 38-year-old Chinee male preented with blurring of viion in hi left eye. Clinical examination revealed central erou retinopathy, and a routine fluorecein angiography wa performed.
Reult
He developed inflammation over the right arm over 4 day. Duplex can dicloed extenive uperficial venou thromboi of the right upper limb with occluion of the bailic vein and cephalic vein in the proximal right upper arm to the level of the midarm. He wa treated medically but wa ubequently lot to follow-up.
Concluion
Extenive upper-extremity venou thromboi i infrequent after ingle-hot intravenou cannulation. Venou thromboi occurring after fluorecein angiography ha not been reported up to thi time. It i poible that proper arm poitioning during the procedure may reduce thi rik, and ophthalmologit hould be vigilant of thi potentially unuual complication.
