Cancer-aociated Nummular Lo of the Pigment Epithelium

Purpoe To report a cae of bilateral diffue uveal melanocytic proliferation (BDUMP) that had area of retinal pigment epithelial lo. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 67-year-old woman with a hitory of uterine cancer preented with 4 month of bilateral viual lo. Reult Although B-can ultraonography revealed both mall hallow erou retinal and choroidal detachment in the periphery, the choroid wa normal in thickne. Fluorecein angiography revealed numerou nummular-haped area of tranmiion defect uggeting retinal pigment epithelium lo. Autofluorecence photography howed complete abence of autofluorecence in thee nummular area, and optical coherence tomography howed egmental area with lack of any ignal from affected area of the retinal pigment epithelium, uggeting complete lo of retinal pigment epithelium cell. Concluion Although the fundu finding in BDUMP have been attributed to the proliferation of uveal melanocytic cell in the outer choroid in previou paper, our patient had nummular area of lo of the retinal pigment epithelium a the apparent reaon for viual decline.
