Abstract :
Purpoe
The Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada’ (VKH) Dieae Committee etablihed the “Revied diagnotic criteria for VKH dieae” in 2001. The purpoe of the preent tudy wa to ae the concordance between thee criteria and the traditional ugiura’ diagnoi ytem.

Method
The medical record of patient previouly diagnoed with VKH dieae baed upon ugiura’ criteria at the Uveiti urvey Clinic of the Hokkaido Univerity Hopital between 1991 and 2003 were retropectively reevaluated uing the VKH Committee’ revied diagnotic criteria for VKH dieae.
Reult
ugiura’ criteria were ued to identify 169 patient with VKH dieae. All patient were Japanee, and 95 cae (56%) were women. Mean age at the time of their firt viit to our clinic wa 44.7 ± 13.9 year (range, 9 to 74 year). Uing the VKH Committee’ new criteria, 91.7% of the previouly diagnoed VKH patient were claified a having the dieae. Of thi group, 11.8% were claified a complete, 71% incomplete, and 8.9% a probable VKH dieae.
Concluion
The VKH Committee’ revied diagnotic criteria proved ueful for VKH dieae diagnoi, a the concordance rate for the two criteria wa more than 90%. However, patient who had prior cataract urgery or who lacked ign of erou retinal detachment were not claified a having VKH dieae becaue of excluion by the VKH Committee’ new criteria.
