A New Non-trocar ytem for 25-gauge Tranconjunctival Par Plana Vitrectomy

Purpoe To introduce a new non-trocar ytem for 25-gauge tranconjunctival par plana vitrectomy (PPV). Deign tudy of a new urgical intrument. Method Thi new non-trocar ytem for 25-gauge tranconjunctival PPV conit of a contact len ring featuring four projection containing 1.0-mm diameter hole located 3.0 mm from the ring edge, a wedge-haped 25-gauge infuion cannula, and two plug. Reult The ring i fixed with 7-0 ilk uture at the 3- and 9-o’clock poition on the limbu. Uing the 25-gauge needle, three conjunctival and cleral inciion (n = 3) are made at the projection hole located inferotemporally, uperonaally, and uperotemporally. No intra- or potoperative complication were encountered in 14 patient treated by thi non-trocar 25-gauge tranconjunctival PPV. Concluion Uing the ytem introduced here, 25-gauge tranconjunctival PPV can be performed without uturing clerotomie and without intra- or potoperative complication.
