To report a cae of chronic recurrent varicella viru epithelial keratiti in a child.
Deign
Cae report.
Method
Clinical examination and polymerae chain reaction analyi of corneal epithelium.
Reult
A 10-year-old healthy child developed chronic recurrent varicella viru keratiti with peudodendrite after recovering from ytemic varicella. Analyi of the debrided peudodendrite wa repeatedly poitive for VZV DNA and negative for HV DNA. Treatment with oral acyclovir and topical corticoteroid drop wa effective in eliminating the peudodendrite; however, recurrence occurred once the medication were dicontinued.
Concluion
Varicella viru epithelial keratiti in children can be a recurrent chronic condition requiring prolonged treatment.
