Abstract :
Purpoe
To etimate the mean rate of decline of ocular function in patient with an atypical form of retiniti pigmentoa, termed “pericentral retiniti pigmentoa.”
Deign
Retropective obervational tudy.
Method
etting: ingle-center. patient population: Eighteen patient (age 32 to 65 year) with pericentral retiniti pigmentoa followed for 3 to 26 year. obervational procedure: nellen viual acuity, Goldmann viual field area (V-4e white tet light), and full-field electroretinogram (ERG) amplitude (0.5 Hz and 30 Hz white flahe). main outcome meaure: Mean annual exponential rate of change quantified by repeated-meaure longitudinal regreion.
Reult
Etimated mean annual rate of decline of remaining ocular function were 1.2% for viual acuity, 1.9% for viual field area, 2.5% for ERG amplitude to 0.5 Hz flahe, and 2.9% for ERG amplitude to 30 Hz flahe.
Concluion
The mean rate of lo of remaining ocular function of patient with pericentral retiniti pigmentoa were generally lower than thoe previouly reported for patient with typical form of retiniti pigmentoa.
