  • Abstract
Purpoe To report a cae in which ilicone oil in the eye migrated into the cerebral ventricle and the ubarachnoid pace. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 62-year-old woman preented with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and tractive retinal detachment in her left eye. Par plana vitrectomy and injection of 5,000-centitoke-vicoity ilicone oil were performed. Intraocular preure wa elevated after the operation and poorly controlled for 4 month. Eight month after the firt operation, the patient felt dizzy. Computed tomography (CT), magnetic reonance imaging (MRI), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) canning were performed. Reult The CT imaging, MRI, and OCT howed ilicone oil migrated into the ella citena uperiori and the cerebral ventricle. Follow-up examination wa continued. Concluion Although ilicone oil migrating into the ventricle i unuual, we ugget that every patient undergoing ilicone oil tamponade with poorly controlled high intraocular preure and optic dik atrophy hould be carefully evaluated.
