Abstract
Purpoe
To quantitatively evaluate retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickne in the fellow eye of normal-tenion glaucoma (NTG) patient with unilateral viual field defect.
Deign
Obervational cae-control tudy.
Method
Twenty-nine NTG patient with unilateral viual field defect were enrolled in thi tudy. All 29 fellow eye howed normal viual field. Thirty-one normal eye of 31 ubject erved a control. The RNFL thickne around the optic dik wa determined uing Fat RNFL thickne (3.4) of optical coherence tomography. Average and egmental (4 quadrant and 12 clock- hour) RNFL thickne meaurement were compared among the three group.
Reult
RNFL thicknee were ignificantly different among the three group in the average, uperior quadrant (11 and 12 clock-hour egment), and inferior quadrant (6 clock-hour egment) (P = .00, one-way ANOVA and Tukey’ tet).
Concluion
RNFL thickne reduction are already preent in the fellow eye of NTG patient with unilateral viual field defect.
