Abstract :
Purpoe
To compare dynamic contour tonometry a a new method for intraocular preure meaurement with Goldmann applanation tonometry.
Deign
Clinical obervational tudy.
Method
The tudy included 176 eye of 126 ubject (39 eye with open-angle glaucoma, 137 normal eye) and conited of 528 dynamic contour meaurement and 352 Goldmann tonometry meaurement. Corneal pachymetry meaurement were additionally performed.
Reult
Mean dynamic contour tonometric meaurement (18.71 ± 5.90 mm Hg) were ignificantly (P < .001) higher than mean applanation tonometric value (16.98 ± 5.86 mm Hg), correlating ignificantly with each other (r2 = .905, P < .001). The lope of the regreion line wa 0.95. Correlation with central corneal thickne wa ignificant for applanation tonometry (P = .036), while dynamic contour tonometry wa tatitically independent of corneal thickne (P = .32).
Concluion
For meaurement of intraocular preure, dynamic contour tonometry may offer a new technology, which, compared with applanation tonometry, may how a lower dependence on central corneal thickne.
