Abstract :
Purpoe
To invetigate the clinical characteritic and urgical outcome of traumatic macular hole-related retinal detachment.
Deign
Retropective, interventional cae erie.
Method
Eight eye of eight patient with traumatic macular hole-related retinal detachment underwent vitrectomy combined with ga tamponade, either initially or ubequently. Anatomic re-attachment of the retina, cloure of traumatic macular hole, and viual outcome were meaured.
Reult
ucceful retinal re-attachment wa achieved in even eye (87.5%), and the macular hole wa uccefully cloed in all eye (100%). Improved viion after the urgery wa noted in five eye (62.5%), wherea three eye (37.5%) diplayed no change.
Concluion
Vitrectomy combined with ga tamponade appear to give an effective anatomic re-attachment rate for traumatic macular hole-related retinal detachment. The preence of peripheral retinal break, vitreou hemorrhage, or the extent of retinal detachment ha no dicernible ignificant influence on cloure rate of macular hole and retinal re-attachment rate.
