Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the outcome of amniotic membrane tranplantation (AMT) for the repair of evere conjunctival dehicence that occurred during or after fornix-inciion trabimu urgery with adjutable uture.
Deign
Retropective, interventional cae erie.
Method
Four patient in whom evere conjunctival dehicence developed during or after trabimu urgery were treated with amniotic membrane graft. The extent of conjunctival reepithelization over clera, range of ocular motility, and patient comfort were evaluated immediately after the urgery and at 1, 2, and 4 week.
Reult
The mean follow-up period wa 16 week (range 4 to 28 week). Conjunctival dehicence wa detected 0 to 14 day after urgery. AMT wa performed 0 to 14 day later. The conjunctival defect wa reepithelized in all patient by the fourth potoperative week without evidence of carring or retriction of motility.
Concluion
In the treatment of large conjunctival defect that may follow trabimu urgery, AMT may be an alternative to conervative management or primary conjunctival cloure.
