Abstract :
Purpoe To report the clinical feature, the primary ite, and overall prognoi of choroidal metatai. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Included were all cae of choroidal metatae evaluated at National Taiwan Univerity Hopital over an 11-year period. Patient with blood or lymphoproliferative dieae were excluded. Clinical feature were correlated with dieae entity and prognoi. Reult A total of 36 patient with choroidal metatae were identified. The mean age wa 53.9 ± 12.8 year. The mean follow-up period wa 5.1 ± 4.2 month. The primary ite of tumor were lung in 18 (50%), breat in eight (22.2%), gatrointetinal tract in three (8.3%), pancrea in two (5.6%), ovary in two (5.6%), kidney in one (2.8%), liver in one (2.8%), and unknown in one (2.8%). Twenty-two patient (61%) died during follow-up. Mean life pan after diagnoi wa 4.3 month in thee 22 patient. Concluion Lung and breat cancer repreent more than two third of primary tumor ite. Choroidal metatae may indicate terminal tatu of the underlying malignancy and hort urvival time.
