Blepharoptoi and Upper Eyelid welling Due to Lipogranulomatou Inflammation Caued by ilicone Oil

Purpoe Report of two patient who preented with unilateral upper eyelid welling and ptoi 1 and 8 year, repectively, after vitreoretinal urgery with intraocular ilicone oil. Deign Report of two cae. Method In the firt cae, the oil wa till preent in the eye. In the econd cae, the intraocular oil and an epibulbar buckle had been removed 7 year earlier. Reult Hitopathology of upper eyelid kin and preaponeurotic fat revealed lipogranulomatou inflammation. Concluion Leakage of intraocular ilicone oil into the eyelid tiue may caue an inflammatory reaction reulting in eyelid welling and ptoi. We preume that in the firt patient, ilicone oil had leaked from the eye during or after urgery; in the econd patient, ilicone oil had probably been left behind in the pace previouly occupied by the epibulbar buckle.
