Tilt and Decentration of Three-Piece Foldable High-Refractive ilicone and Hydrophobic Acrylic Intraocular Lene With 6-mm Optic in an Intraindividual Comparion

Purpoe Intraindividual comparion of tilt and decentration of three-piece foldable intraocular lene (IOL) with 6-mm optic and different edge deign and material. Deign Propective randomized tudy. Method Twenty-five patient with enile cataract (group I) received a foldable ilicone, harp optic edge IOL in one eye and a ilicone, rounded optic edge IOL in the other eye. Group II (n = 28) received the foldable ilicone, harp optic edge IOL in one eye and an acrylate, harp optic edge IOL in the other eye. cheimpflug photography wa performed after the procedure with an anterior eye egment analyi ytem. Tilt and decentration of the IOL optic were meaured 1 week, 6 month, and 12 month after the procedure. Reult In group I, the foldable ilicone, harp optic edge IOL howed a mean optic tilt of 3.03 ± 1.79 degree and an optic decentration of 0.24 ± 0.13 mm; the ilicone, rounded optic edge IOL howed a tilt of 3.26 ± 1.69 degree and a decentration of 0.23 ± 0.13 mm. In group II, the foldable ilicone, harp optic edge IOL howed an average tilt of 2.34 ± 1.81 degree and a decentration of 0.29 ± 0.21 mm after 12 month; the acrylate, harp optic edge IOL had a tilt of 2.32 ± 1.41 degree and a decentration of 0.24 ± 0.10 mm. There were no ignificant difference in either group. Concluion The examined IOL howed a table poition regarding tilt and decentration in the firt 12 potoperative month, independent of material and edge deign. light deviation from the optical axi might affect the outcome in apheric or multifocal IOL.
