Purpoe
To invetigate the feaibility of integrating molecular analyi into tandard hitopathology for lacrimal gland adenoid cytic carcinoma (ACC), and to gain inight into the molecular pathogenei of thi tumor and it repone to intraarterial cytoreductive chemotherapy (IACC) that i of clinical ue.

A retropective, comparative cae erie.
Method
etting: Intitutional. patient population: Nine conecutive patient with lacrimal gland ACC were treated with IACC, followed by orbital exenteration and chemoradiotherapy. Thi cae erie wa compared with a erie of even patient treated by conventional local therapie. intervention procedure: Gene analyi wa performed on microdiected tiue ample. Mutational allelotyping targeting nine genomic loci wa performed with 15 polymorphic microatellite marker ituated in proximity to known tumor uppreor gene erving a marker for the preence of gene deletion. main outcome meaure: A fractional mutation index wa ued to compare the acquired mutational load between different tumor having nonidentical pattern of microatellite informativene.
Reult
Allelic imbalance (lo of heterozygoity [LOH]) for microatellite marker at 1p36 wa the ingle mot common ite affected by imbalance in thi erie, followed by LOH in temporal equence involving 9p21, 22q12, 10q23, and 9q22.
