Abstract :
Purpoe
To invetigate the effect of horter axial length on the laer pot ize and laer energy during photodynamic therapy (PDT) in monkey.
Deign
Experimental tudy with four rheu monkey.
Method
PDT wa performed on the normal retina of monkey whoe ocular axial length are horter (19.55 to 20.25 mm) than that of human. After the PDT, the eye were enucleated, and the diameter of the irradiated laer pot wa meaured with a microcaliper.
Reult
The area of actual laer pot wa only 0.56 to 0.61 time of the planned area, which indicated that the laer energy/area wa 1.64 to 1.78 time more intene than planned initially.
Concluion
Thee reult are the in vivo demontration that the diameter of PDT laer pot i maller for eye with horter axial length.
