Abstract :
Purpoe To detect patient with neovacular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) who experience retinal pigment epithelium tear after initial verteporfin therapy combined with intravitreal triamcinolone during early follow-up. Deign Propective interventional cae erie. Method Forty-five conecutive patient with choroidal neovacularization (CNV) in AMD were treated with verteporfin therapy combined with 4 mg of intravitreal triamcinolone. Optical coherence tomography (OCT), viual acuity, and fluorecein angiography were performed. Reult Two eye with a predominantly claic CNV developed a retinal pigment epithelium tear. An early onet tear could be differentiated from a delayed onet tear. OCT howed an increaed depth ignal in area of miing retinal pigment epithelium and a wavy, contracted, and elevated retinal pigment epithelium band. Concluion Retinal pigment epithelium tear can occur depite adding intravitreal triamcinolone to verteporfin therapy. OCT how characteritic change in the evolution of retinal pigment epithelium tear after combination therapy.
