Rapid Progreion of Diabetic Retinopathy in Eye With Poterior Uveiti

Purpoe To report on two patient who developed rapid progreion of aymmetric diabetic retinopathy (DRP) in eye affected by poterior uveiti in contrat to their fellow eye not affected by uveiti. Deign Obervational cae report. Method Two patient with diabete mellitu (DM) and unilateral uveiti underwent repeated ophthalmologic examination and fluorecein angiography. Reult Two patient with DM and unilateral poterior uveiti developed proliferative DRP in eye with previou uveiti within 3 month after the uveiti ubided. In contrat, the retinal finding of nonuveitic eye remained unchanged on follow-up of everal year. Concluion ince the pathogenei of intraocular inflammation and diabetic retinopathy act through imilar biochemical mediator and pathway, it i feaible that poterior uveiti accelerate the progreion of diabetic retinopathy. Our reult upport thi hypothei and point out a rik for rapid retinopathy development in eye affected with poterior uveiti.
