Abstract :
Purpoe
To provide optical characteritic of cotton-wool pot (CW) on optical coherence tomography (OCT) and can the retina after CW have ophthalmocopically diappeared.
Deign
Obervational cae report.
Method
We tudied four eye of four patient with retinopathy due to human immunodeficiency viru (HIV) and hypertenion. The tratuOCT Model 3000 in ingle-line mode wa ued for imaging of acute and reolved CW and adjacent normal retina. The fundu photography erved a a template for OCT canning in localization of CW. Retinal tiue reflectivity image were compared.
Reult
There were difference in reflectivity of normal retina, the retina in the area of active CW, and the retina in the ame area after CW ha reolved. Mot triking wa that the OCT documented a peritent focal area of hyper-reflectivity in the area of the reolved CW, indicative of retinal glioi that could be imaged.
Concluion
CW how a hyper-reflective pattern on OCT that perit even after they become ophthalmocopically inviible.
