Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of thermal laer photocoagulation of a choroidal neovaacular membrane through the implantable miniature telecope (IMT).
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
Focal thermal laer photocoagulation wa performed. Complete ablation of the neovacular leion, viual acuity, and integrity of the IMT were aeed.
Reult
An 81-year-old woman with a hitory of IMT implantation for advanced geographic atrophy related to age-related macular degeneration developed an extrafoveal choroidal neovacular leion. The patient underwent focal laer photocoagulation through the telecope without complication. Three month after treatment, no evidence of recurrence wa noted, and viual acuity remained at 20/200. The IMT wa not altered by the treatment.
Concluion
Focal thermal laer photocoagulation through an IMT can uccefully treat choroidal neovacularization without damaging the device.
