Abstract :
Purpoe To ae the performance of peripheral and central anterior chamber depth (ACD) meaurement, and autorefraction, in identifying Chinee people with occludable drainage angle or etablihed primary angle cloure. Deign Population-baed cro-ectional analyi. Method ubject aged 40 year and older were drawn from a repreentative ample of Chinee ingaporean reident. Limbal chamber depth (LCD) wa etimated and central ACD wa meaured uing optical pachymetry and ultraound. An autorefraction wa taken for all ubject. Angle width and the preence of peripheral anterior ynechiae were determined by goniocopy. Receiver operating characteritic curve were generated to how the performance of thee tet in detecting occludable angle. Reult A total of 1090 ubject were examined. The prevalence of occludable angle wa 6.5%. LCD meaurement performed bet in detecting occludable angle (area under the curve [AUC] 0.904, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.870, 0.937). Optical pachymetry and ultraound meaurement of ACD performed le well (AUC 0.859 and 0.810, repectively), and autorefraction performed poorly in detecting occludable angle (AUC 0.632). LCD alo gave the bet performance in detecting primary angle cloure (AUC 0.782, 95% CI 0.727, 0.837). Concluion Limbal LCD etimation outperform other method of meauring ACD a a creening tool for the detection of occludable drainage angle in the Chinee population of ingapore.
