Central Corneal Thickne in Children: tability Over Time

Purpoe To evaluate central corneal thickne (CCT) in children over time. Deign Propective obervational cae erie. Method CCT wa meaured by ultraonic pachymetry in 69 eye of 38 ubject age 3 to 14 year recruited from the Duke Univerity Eye Center. ubject included patient with and without glaucoma. Reult For eye on no glaucoma medication, the mean change in CCT wa −1.9 ± 14 μm (n = 30; mean time between CCT meaurement, 567 day). For eye on table glaucoma medication, the mean change in CCT wa +8.1 ± 26 μm (n = 27; mean time between CCT meaurement, 580 day). For eye with a change in medical therapy between viit, the mean change in CCT wa −3.8 ± 24 μm (n = 8, mean number of day between viit 723). Four eye underwent trabeculectomy between meaurement and experienced a mean change in CCT of −9.0 ± 6 μm with a mean of 1257 day between meaurement. Thee CCT change were not tatitically ignificant. Concluion CCT of children age 3 to 14 year appear table over a one- to two-year interval.
