Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a cae of recurrent bleeding after photodynamic therapy (PDT) in an eye with polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy (PCV).
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A 73-year-old man wa treated in the left eye for PCV with PDT.
Reult
Two week after PDT, hi left eye howed extenive ubretinal hemorrhage, with a light viion lo. Three month after PDT, ubretinal hemorrhage wa almot aborbed. He received a econd eion of PDT to the remaining choroidal neovacularization. Two week thereafter, hi left eye howed maive uprachoroidal hemorrhage with further viion lo. One month after the econd PDT, viual acuity wa decreaed to no light perception a a reult of maive vitreou hemorrhage. Although the patient underwent par plana vitrectomy, viual acuity in the left eye remained hand motion a a reult of maive uprachoroidal hemorrhage.
Concluion
Ophthalmologit and patient hould be aware of the rik of maive bleeding after PDT in eye with PCV.
