Abstract
Purpoe
To compare grading of optic dik and cup diameter from tereocopic film and nontereocopic digital image.
Deign
Comparion of technique.
Method
etting: Clinic-baed. patient population: Right eye of 62 adult. obervation procedure: Image of the dik were taken through pharmacologically dilated pupil with a 45-degree digital camera (6.3 megapixel) and with a tereocopic 30-degree film camera. Meaurement were taken for vertical diameter of optic dik and cup. main outcome meaure: Agreement of dik and cup meaurement and cup to dik ratio.
Reult
Optic dik and cup were lightly maller when graded from the tereocopic film image. Cup-to-dik ratio were imilar. Correlation between film and digital image meaurement were high.
Concluion
Meaurement taken from nontereocopic digital image through a dilated pupil were imilar to thoe taken from tereocopic film image. Lack of tereocopic effect may lead to mall difference in meauring the optic dik and cup diameter. Nontereocopic digital imaging may be ueful in epidemiologic tudie when meaure of optic cup and dik are needed.
