Photodynamic Therapy of ubfoveal Choroidal Neovacularization econdary to Reticular Pattern Dytrophy: Three-Year Reult of an Uncontrolled, Propective Cae erie

Purpoe To invetigate the effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) on ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization (CNV) econdary to reticular pattern dytrophy (RPD) of the retinal pigment epithelium. Deign Open-label, propective, interventional cae erie. Method Thirteen eye diagnoed with ubfoveal CNV aociated with RPD were conidered. Complete ophthalmic examination were performed at baeline and thereafter at three-month interval for three year. Primary outcome meaure wa the number of eye with <15 letter lo (approximately <3 line) at 12, 24, and 36 month, compared with baeline. econdary outcome meaure included CNV progreion and number of PDT eion. Reult even eye howed a decreae in bet-corrected viual acuity of at leat three line at three-year examination. Each eye received a median number of treatment of two, zero, and zero in year one, two, and three, repectively. Concluion PDT doe not appear to guarantee long-term viion tabilization in RPD-related ubfoveal CNV, and alternative therapie hould be invetigated
