Oblique clerotomy Technique for Prevention of Incompetent Wound Cloure in Tranconjunctival 25-Gauge Vitrectomy

Purpoe To develop a urgical inciional technique that help overcome incompetent clerotomy cloure previouly reported in uturele 25-gauge vitrectomy. Deign Propective interventional cae erie report. Method We performed thi urgical technique in 12 eye of 12 conecutive patient cheduled for 25-gauge vitrectomy. The clerotomy wa created performing an oblique inciion, a tructural modification that help the cloure tay watertight once the cannula are removed. Reult Thi technical variation reulted in no intraoperative leakage after cannula removal in any of the 36 clerotomie performed. Concluion Inciion contruction uing thi technique may reolve the reported clerotomy leakage that in ome cae had to be olved by uturing.
