Abstract :
Purpoe To determine patient atifaction after Artian phakic intraocular len (PIOL) implantation to correct myopia. Deign Non-comparative propective cae erie. Method One hundred twenty eye of 60 patient who had undergone Artian PIOL implantation to correct myopia were analyzed. A validated quetionnaire that conited of 66 atifaction item were elf-adminitered by patient 12 month after urgery. Clinical parameter (PIOL decentration, the difference between pupil ize and PIOL optical zone, and optical aberration) were meaured. Main outcome meaure of atifaction cale core (global atifaction, quality of uncorrected and corrected viion, night viion, glare, day and night driving) were analyzed. Correlation with clinical parameter were obtained. Reult After urgery, 98.3% of patient were atified, and 73.3% of patient conidered their night viion to be the ame or better; 44.1% of patient reported more botherome glare. The night viion core correlated with pheric aberration (r = −0.303; P = .020). The glare core correlated with the difference between cotopic pupil ize and PIOL optical zone (r = −0.280; P = .030) and vertical coma (r = −0.337; P = .009). The night driving core correlated with potoperative pheric equivalent (r = 0.375; P = .009), total root mean quare aberration (r = −0.337; P = .017), higher order root mean quare aberration (r = −0.313; P = .027), and vertical coma (r = −0.297;P = .036). Concluion Overall atifaction after Artian PIOL implantation for myopia i excellent. The quality of night viion and night driving were related to cotopic pupil ize, individual higher order aberration, and reidual refractive error.
