Abstract :
Purpoe
To ae the hort-term afety and efficacy of intravitreal injection of bevacizumab for iri neovacularization (INV).
Deign
Noncomparative, interventional cae erie.
Method
Intravitreal bevacizumab wa injected in even eye of five patient with INV that wa aociated with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). The main outcome meaurement were viual acuity, intraocular preure (IOP), and regreion of INV by fluorecein angiography before and one week, one month, and two month after injection.
Reult
Regreion of INV wa confirmed in all eye (100%) from one week after injection. Repeated injection tabilized the recurrence (two eye; 29%) that wa oberved two month after the initial injection. The viual acuity remained table or improved, and the intraocular preure wa controlled in ix eye (86%) throughout the follow-up period. No inflammation or complication were oberved.
Concluion
Intravitreal injection of bevacizumab may be an effective and afe alternative for patient with INV that i refractory to conventional treatment.
