Purpoe
To report on the ucceful treatment of periorbital zygomycoi (mucormycoi) with poaconazole, a broad-pectrum oral antifungal available for compaionate ue.

Review of a medical record.
Reult
A 22-year-old male undergoing induction chemotherapy for acute lymphoblatic leukemia preented with periorbital celluliti attributable to Rhizopu. The patient wa initially treated with lipoomal amphotericin B, urgical debridement, and reveral of immune compromie. The patient wa witched to poaconazole becaue of amphotericin ide effect and lack of improvement. He took poaconazole for five month while undergoing additional cycle of chemotherapy. Depite recurrent profound neutropenia, the periorbital infection reolved, he tolerated recontructive procedure, and he did not develop orbital invaion. Hi Rhizopu iolate wa highly uceptible to poaconazole in vitro.
Concluion
Drug toxicitie can limit the ue of amphotericin in ome patient with zygomycoi. Poaconazole how promie a an alternative antifungal agent in the treatment of periorbital zygomycoi.
