Abstract :
Purpoe To determine ophthalmic finding in patient with Apert yndrome before craniofacial urgery. Deign A cro-ectional retropective tudy. Method Review of 63 cae (27 male, 36 female) with Apert yndrome without craniofacial urgery from the Autralian Craniofacial Unit. Demographic data, age of preentation, and ophthalmic finding at the firt preentation were recorded. Reult At a mean age of four year and median age of one year, at leat 14% of patient had amblyopia, 60% of patient had trabimu, 19% of patient had aniometropia, and 34% of eye had ametropia. Expoure keratopathy and corneal carring occurred in at leat 13% of patient and optic atrophy in at leat 8% of patient. Concluion Thi tudy demontrated that patient with Apert yndrome were at rik of amblyopia becaue of high prevalence of refractive error, trabimu, and aniometropia. Expoure keratopathy and corneal carring occurred commonly.
