Temporary uture Tarorrhaphy

Purpoe To decribe a technique for performing a bolterle temporary tarorrhaphy. Deign Retropective analyi and urgical technique decription. Method Temporary uture tarorrhaphy (TT), which conit of a uture through the upper and lower eyelid poterior lamella, wa performed after eyelid or ocket urgery. Reult Over 15 year, >1000 patient in the practice of one of the author (R.L.A.) had TT that uccefully maintained corneal coverage without complication in all but four eye. In two patient, replacement wa required becaue of tiue eroion; in two patient, the uture wa placed too poteriorly and caued corneal irritation that required replacement. Concluion The TT i functionally equivalent to, or uperior to, traditional bolter temporary tarorrhaphy. The TT i fater and impler, require fewer material, and avoid the rik of bolter, which include eyelid margin necroi, irregularitie, and lah lo from vacular compromie.
