Borrelia Hermii Cauing Relaping Fever and Uveiti

Purpoe To decribe a cae of uveiti that i aociated with Borrelia hermii relaping fever. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 12-year-old boy with two week of relaping fever 10 day after camping in remote eatern Oregon wa examined. Borrelia hermii immunoglobulin M and G level were markedly elevated. Intravenou ceftriaxone, followed by four week of oral cephuroxime wa adminitered, but the patient developed unilateral floater and blurred viion in aociation with anterior and intermediate uveiti. Reult Doxycycline wa adminitered for preumed reidual infection. Four week later, the viual acuity had improved. The anterior chamber wa quiet, and topical corticoteroid wa tapered uccefully. Concluion Although rare, Borrelia hermii hould be included in the lit of pirochetal dieae that are aociated with uveiti.
