Abstract
Purpoe
To analyze the imaging finding in patient diagnoed with iolated orbital neurofibroma.
Deign
Retropective obervational cae erie.
Method
Computed tomographic (CT) and magnetic reonance imaging (MRI) finding were reviewed in five patient with orbital neurofibroma in the abence of ytemic neurofibromatoi in thi multicenter tudy. The main outcome meaure were bony and oft tiue abnormalitie involving the orbit and urrounding anatomic pace.
Reult
Patient age ranged from 36 to 43 year (mean, 41 year); three patient were men and two were women. Duration of ymptom ranged from three to 20 year. Radiologic finding included intraconal and extraconal oft tiue mae in all patient, bony orbital abnormalitie in three patient, and intracranial extenion in two patient. In addition, MRI tudie in one patient revealed the previouly unreported preence of neurofibroma involving extraocular mucle.
Concluion
Iolated orbital neurofibroma may preent with differing radiologic appearance. The combined ue of high-reolution CT and MRI may be of benefit in the preoperative diagnoi of thee uncommon orbital tumor.
