Purpoe To determine the effectivene of cleral buckling with a macular plombe in eye with myopic macular retinochii and retinal detachment without a macular hole. Deign A propective, conecutive interventional cae erie. Method etting: Clinical practice at univerity hopital. patient population: ix eye of five conecutive patient with myopic macular retinochii and retinal detachment without a macular hole. intervention procedure: cleral buckling with a macular plombe. main outcome meaure: The bet-corrected viual acuity (BCVA), ophthalmocopic appearance of fundu, and optical coherence tomographic image were recorded preoperatively, and at two week, at one, three, and ix month, and then every three month thereafter. Reult The mean retinal thickne wa reduced ignificantly by the macular plombe (P < .05). The BCVA wa improved by 2 line or more in four eye (66%), and remained within 2 line of the preoperative BCVA in two eye (34%). The complication were ubretinal hemorrhage without choroidal neovacularization in one eye, and a progreion of choroidal neovacularization with ubretinal hemorrhage, which caued a tranient viual impairment in one eye. Concluion We recommend that macular cleral buckling with a macular plombe be conidered for eye with myopic macular retinochii and retinal detachment without a macular hole.
