Abstract :
Purpoe To invetigate optical coherence tomography (OCT) finding in patient with punctate retinal toxoplamoi (PRT). Deign Obervational cae erie. Method etting: Tertiary ophthalmic referral center. tudy Population: Four patient with PRT conecutively evaluated between July 2004 and June 2005. Obervation Procedure: Clinical examination and OCT. Main Outcome Meaure: Morphologic feature at baeline and change within a 24-week follow-up interval. Reult Retinal layer were abnormally hyperreflective at the active leion ite and aociated with ome degree of retinal pigment epithelium-choriocapillari/choroidal optical hadowing in all patient. The poterior hyaloid wa thickened and focally detached (over the leion). Additional finding include tractional maculopathy (n = 2) and diffue macular edema (n = 1). During follow-up, focal choriocapillari/choroidal relative hyperreflectivity wa oberved at the former leion ite, and poterior vitreou detachment progreed in all patient. Concluion Our finding ugget that OCT may enable identification of ubtle morphologic feature previouly underappreciated in patient with PRT, which may provide new inight about the dieae pathophyiologic mechanim.
