Intravitreal Injection of Bevacizumab (Avatin) a Adjunctive Treatment of Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy

Purpoe To report the ue of intravitreal bevacizumab (Avatin) a an adjunctive treatment for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Deign Retropective cae review. Method Intitutional review board approval to review patient data wa obtained for thi retropective tudy. Three patient underwent intravitreal injection of bevacizumab a part of their treatment for PDR after informed conent wa igned. Each patient alo underwent fundu photograph before the bevacizumab injection and then one to three week after. Reult All three patient howed complete regreion of their neovacularization elewhere (NVE) and neovacularization of the dik (NVD) between one and three week after injection. Concluion The peed and degree of neovacular regreion after the injection of intravitreal bevacizumab may make thi procedure an important adjunctive treatment in the management of elected cae with evere PDR.
