Optical Coherence Tomography Evaluation of Idiopathic Macular Hole Treatment by Ga-aited Poterior Vitreou Detachment

Purpoe To report a erie of patient with tage II macular hole (MH) treated by ga-aited poterior vitreou detachment (GAPVD). Deign Interventional cae erie. Method ix patient (ix eye) with tage II MH were ubmitted to a 0.4 ml perfluoropropane (C3F8) intravitreal injection. Comprehenive ophthalmic examination including bet-corrected viual acuity, fundu photography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) wa performed at baeline and one, three, and ix month after the procedure. Reult Preoperative OCT revealed tage II MH in all cae. In five cae, improvement in viual acuity and cloure of the macular hole on OCT wa oberved at one, three, and ix month after GAPVD. In one cae, although vitreofoveal traction wa releaed, MH cloure wa not achieved; a full-thickne retinal defect perited and final viual acuity wa 20/100. Concluion GAPVD may be a viable alternative treatment for tage II MH.
