Abstract :
Purpoe
To tudy the morphological feature of eroanguineou pigment epithelial detachment (PED) with accompanying polypoidal leion in eye with polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy (PCV).
Deign
Retropective obervational cae erie.
Method
For thi obervational cae tudy, we retropectively reviewed 93 conecutive eye of 85 patient with PCV. The leion in eye with PCV were examined with indocyanine green angiography (IA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT).
Reult
Of 93 eye with PCV, 51 eye (55%) had erou or hemorrhagic PED. Of thee 51 eye, a notch in the PED wa found in 27 eye (53%) by angiography, mot of which howed polypoidal leion by IA that correponded in location to the notch oberved by angiography. Polypoidal leion were detected outide the PED in one eye (2%), at the margin of the PED in 33 eye (65%), and inide the PED in 12 eye (24%). OCT revealed that PED had a notch oberved tomographically in 29 eye (57%), mot of which correponded in location to polypoidal leion een by IA. In eight eye, polypoidal leion, which were adherent to the inner urface of the erou PED, appeared to be detached from the Bruch membrane and the choroid.
Concluion
Polypoidal leion are located at the margin of PED and make a notch in the accompanying PED that i viible by angiography and tomographically. When the polypoidal leion have increaed exudate, the fluid from the leion infiltrate under the polypoidal leion themelve, which reult in the leion detaching from the Bruch membrane and appearing to be located inide the PED.
