Deign Obervational cae-control tudy. Method Vitreou fluid ample were obtained by vitreoretinal urgery from 71 eye of patient with diabete mellitu type 2 with PDR and from 17 eye of nondiabetic patient with a macular hole. PDR wa claified a active and inactive and ubdivided according to the extent of large-veel gliotic obliteration. The cytokine level were meaured by cytometric bead array method. Reult The vitreou level of IL-8 were ignificantly higher in patient with PDR in comparion with the control ubject (P < .001) and in patient with higher extent of large veel gliotic obliteration (P < .001). A vitreou level of IL-8 wa not aociated with the preence of active PDR. Concluion Increaed level of IL-8 in PDR were aociated with a higher extent of large-veel gliotic obliteration.
