Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the ix-month reult of patient treated with intravitreal predniolone odium uccinate injection for peritent diabetic macular edema.
Deign
Retropective, noncontrolled, clinical cae erie.
Method
Nineteen eye had intravitreal injection with predniolone odium uccinate. Need for retreatment wa baed on fluorecein angiographic or optical coherence tomography evidence of periting macular edema.
Reult
Mean viual acuity at ix week, three month, and ix month after injection wa ignificantly better than the mean preoperative viual acuity (P = .015, P = .004, and P = .031, repectively). In none of the tudied eye intraocular preure exceeded 22 mm Hg. No other advere event, uch a endophthalmiti or retinal detachment, occurred.
Concluion
In thi mall pilot tudy, mean viual acuity improvement wa tatitically ignificant up to ix month potoperatively. Current reult ugget that intravitreal injection of the olution of predniolone odium uccinate may be a afe and good alternative in eye with macular edema.
