Purpoe We report an unuual increae in the number of cae of keratomycoi attributable to Fuarium olani in contact len wearer. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Between November 2005 and May 2006, 14 corneal abcee were reported at the Univerity Hopital Center of Fort-de-France. Twelve patient were contact len wearer, and 10 ued Bauch & Lomb (Rocheter, New York, UA) ReNu® with MoitureLoc. Corneal craping were collected for microbiological analye. Reult In ix month, five abcee attributable to Fuarium olani in contact len wearer, uing Bauch & Lomb ReNu® with MoitureLoc a contact len olution, were reported. Concluion Thi tudy report an epidemic of keratomycoi attributable to Fuarium olani among contact len wearer in the Caribbean, during the ame timeframe a a imilar epidemic in Aia and North America. We are unaware of previou report of thi phenomenon and could find no reference to it in a computerized earch utilizing MEDLINE.
