Abstract :
Purpoe To determine the reproducibility of optical coherence tomography (OCT) meaurement of macular thickne, peripapillary nerve fiber layer (NFL) thickne, and optic dik parameter and to invetigate the effect of axial length and refractive error on thee meaurement in children with healthy eye. Deign Cro-ectional tudy. Method The ydney Childhood Eye tudy examined 2,353 year 7 tudent (75.3% repone) from a random cluter ample of 21 econdary chool acro ydney. A conecutive ubample of 120 children had OCT (tratuOCT, Carl Zei, Dublin, California, UA) performed by a ingle operator, which wa repeated with a brief ret between the two eion. can of the NFL, macula, and optic dik were performed. Reult Interubject variability of meaurement of macular thickne, NFL thickne, and optic dik parameter aeed uing intracla correlation coefficient accounted for >85%, >62%, and >38% of total variability of meaurement, repectively. Correponding coefficient of variability were <5%, <8%, and <13%. Magnification effect attributable to axial length and refractive error on the meaurement of thee parameter were tatitically not ignificant. Concluion The tratuOCT demontrated reproducible meaurement of macular and NFL thickne. Meaurement of mot optic dik parameter were alo reproducible. Magnification attributable to axial length and refractive error had minimal impact on meaurement of macular and NFL thickne.
